For the 2023 holiday season, I created a series of four bronze tree ornaments to give as gifts to family and friends. The designs were inspired by song lyrics from my favorite band, The Cribs.

I carved the original artwork in layered wood and created silicone molds to produce a limited run. I cast and chased the bronze before sandblasting and leaving it without finish; as they oxidize over time, the metal will naturally change appearance every year, a gift that keeps on giving.

“BUT BABY DON’T FEEL DOWN /

I LEFT MY HEART IN A PROVINCIAL TOWN”

“I’M THE WHALE BENEATH THE SHIP /

WHO WOULD EVER BELIEVE ME?”

III.

“BE COMFORTED BY /

WE SHARE THE SAME SKIES”

IV.

“I DRAG UP ANCIENT HISTORY /

HOPE THAT THEY’LL FORGIVE ME”
